Overview of Training Requirements

Beginning in academic year 2017-2018, the Human Subjects Protection program at Kean University will require all new IRB applicants and faculty research advisors to complete Human Subjects Research training  provided by the Collaborative Institutional Training Institute (CITI) program.

During AY 2016-17, we will begin the transition from the currently required NIH training to CITI training for IRB applicants. All IRB applicants in AY 2016-17 have the choice of completing either NIH training or CITI training.
